삼성채용 대비서 판매 불티

삼성그룹이 서류전형 없이 대졸 신입사원을 뽑 는 게 이번 상반기가 마지막일 수 있다는 관측이 대두됨에 따라 삼성직무적성검사(SSAT) 대비서가 작년보다 빠른 속도로 팔리고 있다.

25일 인터넷서점 예스24가 집계한 SSAT 문제집 판매현황 보면 3월 판매 량 추정치는 7천640여권으로 지난달(1천890여권)보다 304.2% 증가했다.

3월 판매량은 1일부터 23일까지 팔린 5천699권을 기준으로 하루에 246권씩 팔린 다고 가정하고 계산한 수치다.

2012년 3월에는 전달(1천650여권)보다 60.6% 많아진 2천650여권이, 2013년 3월 에는 전달(2천250여권) 대비 158.2% 늘어난 5천810여권이 팔린 것과 비교하면 눈에 띄는 증가세다.

1∼3월 전체 판매량 역시 2012년 5천300여권, 2013년 9천560여권, 2014년 1만57 0여권(추정)으로 점차 늘어났다.

SSAT가 치러지기 한 달 전부터 대비서 판매량이 늘어나는 것은 통상적인 일이지 만, 올해는 유난히 증가폭이 크다는 게 예스24의 설명이다.

박수호 예스24 수험서 담당 MD는 "올해 초 삼성그룹이 서류전형과 대학총장 추 천제를 도입한다고 발표하고 나서 SSAT 문제집 판매량이 주춤했으나, 채용제도 개선 안이 취소되자 판매량이 작년보다 빠르게 증가하고 있다"고 말했다.

삼성그룹은 1월 초 서류전형 부활과 대학총장 추천제 도입을 골자로 하는 채용 제도 개선안을 발표했다가 역풍을 맞고 2주 만에 원점으로 돌아왔다.

계획을 전면 백지화하면서 삼성그룹은 올해 상반기 채용은 지난해 하반기와 같 은 방식으로 진행하겠다고 밝혔다.

앞으로의 계획은 구체화하지 않았으나, 개선안을 계속 연구·검토해 나가겠다고 한만큼 머지않아 삼성그룹 채용제도에 변화가 있을 것으로 보인다.

구직자 사이에서는 이르면 올해 하반기부터 새로운 채용 시스템이 도입되지 않 겠느냐는 전망까지 나오고 있다.

특히 지난번에 발표된 채용제도 개선안이 SSAT 의존도를 낮추는 데 초점을 맞췄 던 만큼 서류심사 재도입을 확실시하는 분위기도 감지된다.

업계 관계자는 "구직자들은 이번 SSAT가 '서류장벽'이 없는 마지막 기회라고 여 기는 경향이 있다"고 귀띔했다.

그간 삼성그룹은 학점 3.0, 직무별 어학능력, 대학 졸업(예정) 등 기본 조건만 갖추면 누구나 SSAT에 응시할 기회를 보장해왔다.

삼성그룹은 24일부터 28일까지 지원서를 받고 다음 달 13일 서울·경기, 대전, 대구, 부산, 광주 등 전국 5개 지역과 미국 뉴어크·로스앤젤레스, 캐나다 토론토 등 외국 3개 지역에서 SSAT를 치른다. (연합)

More jobseekers rush to buy Samsung entrance exam books

Sales of books related to the entrance exam of South Korea's biggest conglomerate Samsung Group soared in March, one of the nation's largest booksellers said Tuesday, ahead of a change in its recruitment system later this year.

Yes 24 said its shipments of textbooks for the Samsung Aptitude Test (SSAT) jumped more than three-fold from a month earlier.

While sales of such books usually soar in March ahead of the exam at the end of the month, this year's growth hovered above the

158.2 percent and 60.6 percent tallied in 2013 and 2012, respectively.

"Sales of SSAT-related books surged at a faster pace compared to last year right after Samsung scrapped its new employment plan,"

said Park Soo-ho, an employee at the bookseller.

Market watchers said the rising demand for SSAT textbooks comes as Samsung, which scrapped its new employment plan in January, is anticipated to roll out another recruitment program later in the year that apparently will give fewer jobseekers a chance to take the test.

Earlier this year, Samsung said it planned to impose stricter qualifications on those wishing to take the SSAT, alarming jobseekers.

The move came after some 200,000 job hopefuls applied to Samsung in 2013, with most of them being given the chance to take the test. Samsung said the number of SSAT takers was a financial burden for both the company and the applicants.

The group added it will also adopt a new employment system from this year allowing local college presidents to recommend their students for jobs with the business group, a system it said would help in hiring a diverse array of applicants with varying talents.

Samsung, however, scrapped the plan only two weeks later, amid public criticism that it favored some universities over others, adding that it will devise a better recruitment plan in the near future.

Samsung, which kicked off its first-half recruitment Monday, will receive applications through Friday, with the SSAT being held on April 13 in major cities, as well as in the United States and Canada. (Yonhap)
