BOK chief to attend G-20 central bankers' meeting in Washington

The head of Korea's central bank will attend the upcoming meeting of finance ministers and central bank governors from the world's 20 advanced and developing countries in the United States, the bank said Monday.

Bank of Korea (BOK) Gov. Lee Ju-yeol will head to Washington on Tuesday for the G-20 finance ministers and central bank governors' meeting, slated to be held Thursday and Friday (Washington time), according to the BOK.

At the meeting, "The BOK governor will share his views with other G-20 finance ministers and central bank governors on ways to boost global cooperation for sustainable and balance development of the world economy, promote reform in the global financial market and secure resources for investment," the central bank said in a press release.

Lee will also attend a two-day meeting of the International Monetary Fund's international monetary and financial committee starting Friday before returning home on Sunday. (Yonhap)
