Dell Korea said Tuesday it added new high-performance gaming PCs to its flagship Alienware lineup, specifically targeting a sizable group of gamers here in Korea.

Two different sizes of laptops, Alienware 14 and 17, and a desktop series called Alienware X51 feature some of the latest technologies suitable for all levels of gamers.

The 14-inch series weighs 2.9 kilograms and is designed to increase mobility and portability for gamers on the move, whereas Alienware 17 is designed for more hard-core gamers and professionals with high-definition graphics. Customers can also choose a 3-D panel option with the 17-inch model for a more dynamic gaming experience.

Over 60 percent of the main mechanical components in the new laptops are made of anodized aluminum and magnesium, which helps prevent overheating even after hours of use.

The slim and compact design of the X51 desktop also boasts a reduced booting time.

All new models are equipped with the latest fourth-generation Intel core i5 or i7 processors with turbo boost. Gamers can choose up to four storage drives.

With the release of the new Alienware lineup, Dell Korea also announced a renewed marketing strategy and expects to achieve 1 trillion won ($8.9 billion) in sales within the next two to three years.

“Our distribution and marketing apparatuses were reinvigorated last year,” said Kim Kyung-duk, CEO of Dell Korea.

Alienware 14 is priced around 1.7 million won ($1,500) and the 17-inch laptop starts at 2 million won.

The X51 desktop’s basic price is set at 1.2 million won.
