Apple Inc. filed another lawsuit against Samsung Electronics Co. for patent infringement on the South Korean tech titan’s six latest mobile products, amid a series of ongoing legal tug-of-war between the two global IT companies, a German patent blog said Sunday.

The Cupertino, California-based U.S. firm sued the Korea company on Friday at the U.S. Northern District Court of California for violating its patents with four smartphone models ― Galaxy Note 2, Galaxy S3 Mini, Galaxy S3 and Rugby Pro ― and two tablet PCs ― Galaxy Tab 8.9 and Galaxy Tab 2 10.1, according to FOSS Patents.com.

Apple requested these products be included for the second court ruling on the merits, the blog said.

The newly added Galaxy S3 refers to the upgraded version which comes with a complimentary electronic stylus and runs on the latest Jelly Bean Android platform, according to the blog.

Intellectual property experts said the latest lawsuit came as a countersuit against Samsung which claimed in its most recent suit that Apple’s iPad mini violated its patents.

Apple apparently nailed its flag to the mast that the lawsuit is not intended against the Google’s Jelly Bean or Ice Cream Sandwich, the operating systems upon which Samsung models run, the blog said. (Yonhap News)
