Shaved ice topped with sweet red bean paste, rice cakes and condensed milk is a refreshing summer treat in Korea.

Ingredients:
- 2 cups milk
- 1 cup water
- 4 tablespoons sweetened condensed milk
- ½ cup sugar
- ½ cup corn syrup
- 2 cups red beans
- a few pieces rice cake
- powdered multigrain mix (optional)
- Rice cake (optional)
- a pinch salt
Red bean paste instructions:
- Soak 2 cups red beans in water for 12 hours.
- Add the soaked beans and 1 liter water to a pot and boil for about 20 minutes until the beans are soft.
- Once the beans are soft, add ½ cup sugar, ½ cup corn syrup and a pinch of salt.
- Simmer on low heat until the paste thickens.
Shaved ice instructions:
- In a mixing bowl, combine 2 cups milk, 1 cup water, 4 tablespoons sweetened condensed milk and a pinch of salt.
- Freeze the mixture for about 8 hours.
- Use an ice shaver to shave the ice.
- Place the shaved ice in a bowl.
- Top with red bean paste, powdered multigrain mix and pieces of rice cake.
