Another delay in releasing the results of the Test of English as a Foreign Language, or TOEFL, infuriated Korean test takers once again, affecting the credibility of the U.S. based test developer, ETS.

The ETS said in a notice posted on its website that the results of the tests taken on Aug 25 and 26, have been postponed and will be announced by Sept. 12.

It usually takes 10 days for the test results to be released online, so Korean takers expected to know the results by Friday, which was the deadline for early admissions applications to many local colleges here.

For many people, the test is used in applying to colleges at home and abroad.

The ETS advised test takers who apply for early admissions to send the email from the ETS to the prospective institutions if the test takers miss the application deadline.

The test developer said grading has been delayed due to the Labor Day holiday in the U.S. on Sept. 3.

The release of the Aug. 29 test was also postponed for the same reason.
