Hyosung sponsors Yo-Yo Ma’s lesson for multicultural children

Hyosung Group on Monday sponsored world-renowned cellist Yo-Yo Ma’s special class for multicultural children and invited them to his concert in Seoul.
As a global sponsor of the Silk Road Ensemble with Yo-Yo Ma, Hyosung invited 50 members of an orchestra of children of multicultural families to the concert Monday evening at Seoul Arts Center.
Yo-Yo Ma and the members of the Silk Road Ensemble also gave a special lesson for the young musicians earlier Monday.
Hyosung had sponsored a similar class by Yo-Yo Ma and the ensemble for an orchestra made up of boys from a Busan welfare center two years ago.
The Silk Road Ensemble, a collective of internationally renowned performers and composers from more than 20 countries, has collaborated on a diverse range of musical and multimedia projects, presenting innovative performances that spring from Eastern and Western traditions and contemporary influences.
The ensemble is on a seven-city concert tour this month, its first in Asia since 2010.
