Chuseok box from Lotte Hotels
Braised short ribs simmered with jujube, fresh ginseng and chestnut make up a premium to-go Chuseok spread that arrives packed in a three-tier lunch box. The Delight Box, from Lotte Hotels & Resorts, gathers more than 10 holiday staples for households.
Alongside the herbal galbijjim comes a five-piece jeon assortment of mung bean, shiitake, shrimp, beef and fish pancakes, plus seafood japchae, yeongyangbap, grilled abalone, poached octopus, soy-marinated conch, grilled deodeok, two seasoned vegetables, cabbage kimchi, beef and radish soup, rice cake and yugwa.
Sized for two to four people, the box is available in limited quantities for 330,000 won.
Reservations run through Sept. 22 via Naver, the company website or phone, with a minimum two-day lead time. Pickup is Sept. 23-26 at Delica Hans, on the first floor of The Grand Lotte Seoul and Lotte Hotel World.
Six-resort ski pass goes on sale
Skiers planning this winter season can now buy a single pass covering six domestic resorts.
The X6+ Season Pass covers unlimited lift and cable car access at Mona Yongpyong, High1 Resort, Jisan Resort, Welli Hilli Park, Elysian Gangchon and Alpensia Resort.
Passholders also receive lift benefits when booking rooms at Mona Yong Pyong's partner resorts in China, Japan and Canada.
First-round sales run through Oct. 7 on Nol Universe. Adult passes cost 599,000 won and youth passes 399,000 won, with adult buyers receiving one free pass for a child born on or after Jan. 1, 2008.
Kensington properties build autumn packages around foliage
Maple, pink muhly and cosmos shape a nationwide autumn promotion running at 14 Kensington hotels and resorts through Nov. 30.
The Colorful Autumn packages from E-Land Park pair a one-night stay and breakfast for two with either admission to a nearby attraction or an on-site activity. Rates start at 129,900 won at Kensington Hotel Pyeongchang.
That property's package includes a train tour of its 67,000-square-meter French garden and a feed pack for its animal farm. Kensington Hotel Seorak, a five-minute walk from Seoraksan National Park, adds passes to Cheoksan Hot Springs and a 10,000-won hotel voucher.
At Kensington Resort Jirisan Namwon, guests receive passes to six local attractions, including Gwanghalluwon Garden. Other options include Kensington Resort Seorak Valley, Kensington Resort Gyeongju and Kensington Resort Jeju Hallim.
Lahan Hotel teams with Chuncheon bakery Gamzabatt for fall stay
Potato bread built the reputation of Chuncheon bakery brand Gamjabat, and the label has now turned up in hotel rooms across the country.
Lahan Hotel's Autumn Harvest Trip with Gamzabatt package bundles a one-night stay with a gift set of three signature corn breads, two potato and sweet potato doll keyrings and collaboration stickers. Individual properties add breakfast for two, coffee coupons or late checkout.
The package runs through Nov. 30 at Lahan Select Gyeongju, Lahan Hotel Jeonju, Lahan Hotel Pohang, Hotel Hyundai by Lahan Ulsan and Hotel Hyundai by Lahan Mokpo, where bookings receive ocean-view rooms. Rates start from 99,000 won.
Grand Hyatt Seoul brings back outdoor Namsan Festival
Grill smoke and wine glasses move outdoors at Grand Hyatt Seoul on Oct. 10 and 11, when the hotel stages its annual Namsan Festival from 4 to 8 p.m.
The menu leans on fire and warmth, with a barbecue platter of prime short rib, pulled pork and bratwurst, plus beef and chicken skewers grilled to order, fried chicken, cheeses and cold cuts. Seafood tteokbokki, pizza, maki and hotteok with ice cream round it out. Six wine importers pour throughout.
Standing tickets cost 35,000 won, including entry, one canned highball and a wine neck holder, with an early-bird rate of 30,000 won for bookings made by Sept. 30. A Saturday-only picnic zone in the Waterfall Garden is 100,000 won for two, and eight gazebo VIP tables for up to four people are 600,000 won each.
