BTS has reached 1 billion views on YouTube once again with the music video for “Blood Sweat & Tears,” said label Big Hit Music on Sunday.
The video is the band’s eighth to achieve the feat, preceded by “Dynamite,” “Boy With Luv (feat. Halsey),” “DNA,” “MIC Drop (Steve Aoki Remix),” “Idol,” “Fake Love” and “Butter.”
“Blood Sweat & Tears” is the main track of the band's second studio album, “Wings,” released in October 2016. The album hit the Billboard 200 at No. 26, the highest spot for a K-pop act at the time, and became the first K-pop entry on the UK's Official Albums Chart Top 100 at No. 62.
The tropical house tune was co-written by RM, Suga and J-Hope and portrays conflicted youth faced with temptation. The six-minute clip includes RM reciting part of Hermann Hesse’s “Demian,” one of the major inspirations for the video.
