[THE INVESTOR] Samsung Electronics on July 5 aired a 20-minute video, titled “Samsung Software Competitiveness Naked,” lamenting about its lack of software prowess directly comparing it with that of the US Internet giant Google.
The video, aired early in the morning across Samsung Group’s key affiliates, pinpointed design architecture for software as the key to success stories of software powerhouses such as Google and Facebook.
“Facebook’s key competitiveness is software architecture. We also should elevate our prowess in the field,” the video said.

In order to do so, the video called for changes in communications culture at workplaces, hinting at an overhaul of the company’s corporate culture overall.
“Manager-level workers focus on administrative affairs only rather than software development,” the video said. “We could upgrade software competitiveness when such administrative burdens are relieved.”
The video was a sequel to the first video, titled “Samsung Software Competitiveness, the Uncomfortable Truth,” that was aired on June 21.
