Starbucks presents Cold Brew to Korea

Starbucks Korea launched its Cold Brew at 100 stores in Korea on Tuesday.

Cold Brew is an iced coffee that uses a roast of a special blend of African and Latin American beans, with only a small limited amount of espresso created each day.

The ground beans are steeped in cold water for fourteen hours, maximizing its sweet chocolate flavor and silky texture. The original flavor of the beans is preserved by not exposing them to any heat.

The special Cold Brew will be available in its original form and in Brew Latte form, at 4,500 won ($4) and 5,000 won respectively.

Starbucks will provide a free size upgrade for Cold Brew drinkers between April 26 and May 2.

Golden Blue presents first white whisky in Korea

Domestic whisky brand Golden Blue will release in May the first white whisky in Korea, aimed at the trendy drinkers’ market.

Called Phantom the White, the white whisky line uses 100 percent Scottish whisky that undergoes a compound filtering process for a more clean, soft finish.

The company said that Phantom the White is designed to break the preconception that whisky is enjoyed only by older drinkers. As it has a light flavor and texture compared to traditional whisky, Phantom the White can be enjoyed neat, on the rocks or mixed with other ingredients in cocktails as with other white spirits like vodka, gin and rum.
