Former Clon member and popular local electronic dance music icon DJ Koo (Koo Jun-yup) has been picked as the music director at the 2018 PyeongChang Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games’ second round of test events.

“We have selected Koo Jun-yup as the music director at the upcoming ‘2016 FIS Freestyle Ski-Snowboard World Cup’ second test event from the 18th to 28th at the Bokwang Phoenix Park in PyeongChang,” said PyeongChang Organizing Committee President Cho Yang-ho, in a press release Sunday.

The winter sports event is being held as one of many test runs at PyeongChang’s Jeongseon Alpine Centre, which is scheduled for completion by October this year.

As the initial test event, the FIS Ski World Cup men’s downhill and super-G races were held on the brand new course at the Jeongseon Alpine Centre from Feb. 6-7, kicking off a series of 28 test events.

“Being selected as the music director the PyeongChang Winter Olympic Games test events is a true honor,” said DJ Koo. “I promise to create a new and touching experience for the athletes and sectors of the upcoming FIS Freestyle Ski-Snowboard World Cup.”

DJ Koo has made a name for himself as one of the country’s best-known deejay figures, having been invited to perform at the world-famous Ultra Music Festival in Miami, Florida for four consecutive years.
