The French musical “Mozart, L’Opera Rock (Mozart, The Rock Opera)” will make its way to Korea, bringing its original cast for the first time in March.

The show with the original cast will also be making its Asian premiere at Daegu Keimyung Art Center in Daegu from March 3-6 and at Sejong Center for the Performing Arts in Seoul from March 12-April 24. Its Korean-language production was previously staged in both cities in 2012.

The original cast includes Mikelangelo Loconte and Laurent Ban, who play the lead roles of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Antonio Salieri, respectively.

The award-winning musical about the life of composer Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart features pop rock music and classical music by Mozart. It premiered in 2009 at the Palais des Sports de Paris and ran until 2010.

Its songs became popular, topping French music charts and album sales. One of the songs in the soundtrack “L’assasymphonie” won the French song of the year at NRJ Music Awards in 2010.

The musical boasts a large-scale production, featuring more than 50 dancers, actors and singers, lavish stage sets and decorations and more than 400 costume pieces to portray the world of the late 18th century.
