Vietnamese celebrities and beauty gurus will appear on Naver’s live broadcasting app V, expanding the already star-studded app across the globe and diversifying its content, Naver said Monday.
Ten Vietnamese stars, including female singer Dong Nhi and actress Chi Pu, confirmed their participation on the app to interact in real time with the global audiences and fans. Also, local makeup artists will teach about hair and makeup to the viewers on the app, starting in November.

The app was launched on July 31 with 25 channels consisting only of K-pop stars. Now the app boasts 67 channels that invites an array of stars from diverse fields, including actors, actresses, comedians, models and athletes.
Household names such as Big Bang, Wonder Girls, Girls’ Generation, Joo Won, Park Bo-young and Lee Jong-suk are the regular participants of the app.
These stars not only engage with fans via the app, but also use it creatively and effectively as the channel to promote their upcoming albums or acting projects.
“Fast-rising stars from diverse sectors are using the app to communicate with their fans, thanks to V’s celebrity-centered, live broadcast and stable technology,” said Park Sun-young, head of Naver’s V.
As of Tuesday, V app topped 5 million downloads worldwide, with 61 percent of users from outside Korea. The videos on the app have had 140 million views, with 1.44 billion likes and 41.3 million comments. In September alone, there were a total of 613 live celebrity broadcasts.
