Boasting advanced camera technologies, LG Electronics’ G4 smartphone has been garnering positive market responses since its launch in April in South Korea.

One of those head-turning camera technologies is the F1.8 aperture lens, which the company says enables users to catch memorable moments in low light conditions.

The lower aperture level means that the camera allows more light through and that users can snap photos in lower levels of light.

Theoretically, the F1.8 aperture lens allows 49 percent more light to enter the camera than the F2.2, which is featured in Apple’s iPhone 6, and 11 percent more light than the F1.9 aperture lens, fitted in Samsung Electronics’ Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge.

“The image sensor measuring at 1/2.6 inches in size -- 40 percent larger than the one for the G3 smartphone -- produces crisper images with richer colors,” an LG Electronics official said.

The improved optical image stabilization technology, called the OIS 2.0, is another feature of the phone that catches eyes of many. The OIS Plus, the previous version of the OIS 2.0, can tolerate camera shake up to one degree on the X and Y axes, but the toleration level increased to two degrees on both axes with the new OIS 2.0.

The color spectrum sensor of the smartphone helps capture accurate images by “precisely reading the RGB values of the ambient light in a scene, as well as the infrared light reflected from objects,” according to LG.

On the design front, the leather-clad smartphone has been well received by males in their 20s, 30s and 40s, who accounted for 60 percent of the all purchasers of the handset from the launch up until mid-May.

Those who want stylish leather goods that wear naturally and show a unique sheen over time are said to have opted for the LG phone.

In order to meet the diverse tastes of consumers, LG provides a variety of color options, six in total, for the stitched leather back cover -- brown, black, red, yellow, sky blue and beige. LG has also added three more color options for the plastic case -- gray, white and gold.
