지난 25일 영국 타블로이드지 미러의 보도에 따르면 북부 러시아에 거주하는 이 부부는 “술에 매우 취해 있었다”며 “아들에게 무슨 일이 일어났는지 기억나지 않는다”고 진술해 큰 충격을 주고 있다.
한편 하반신 마비를 앓고 있던 이 부부의 4살배기 아들은 가정을 방문한 할아버지에 의해 냉장고에서 발견됐다고 경찰은 전했다.
