Big Bang member Daesung has been chosen to be an MC for a new show on MTV Japan.

Daesung will be hosting a five-episode variety show program with MTV’s VJ Boo called “D-LITE & VJ Boo D’splay,” which will air every two weeks on Saturdays at 6:30 p.m. starting April 13.

According to YG Entertainment, Daesung and VJ Boo are close friends and the two will be showing off their friendship throughout the series as well as cooking and doing many fun things.

“I am nervous as this is my first time being an MC. I hope to show my fans my real and fun side through the show,” said Daesung.

On March 23, Daesung officially began his first Japanese tour, “D-Lite D’scover TOUR 2013 IN JAPAN~DLIVE,” to perform 25 concerts in 19 cities.

The singer recently released his first solo album in Japan, “D’scover.” The album features 12 songs, featuring 10 covers of Japanese songs reworked to fit Daesung’s style, as well as two songs of his own.

“D’scover” rose to the No.2 spot on Oricon’s Daily Album Chart after its debut on Feb. 28.
