Doctors at a Spanish hospital said a 39-year-old woman who gave birth at her home did not know she was pregnant until her water broke.

The doctors, from La Paz hospital in Madrid, said the woman called emergency services early Thursday and reported she had been experiencing severe stomach pains all day and she suddenly realized she was in labor when her water broke, thinkSpain reported Thursday.

The hospital said the woman’s baby boy had already been born by the time paramedics arrived and the pair were taken to the hospital, where officials said they are doing well.

스페인의 한 병원에 따르면 39세의 한 여성이 양수가 터질 때 까지도 자신이 임신을 했는지 모르다가 집에서 출산을 했다고 밝혔다.

마드리드에 있는 라 파즈 병원 의사들은 이 여성이 목요일 아침에 병원 응급실에 전화를 걸어 하루 종일 복통을 겪었다고 호소했고 양수가 갑자기 터지면서 자신이 분만 중이란 걸 갑자기 깨달았다고 전했다.

응급요원들이 그의 집에 도착했을 무렵 산모는 남자 아기를 이미 낳았고, 산모와 아기는 병원으로 이송되었다고 전해졌다.
