The school board appointed Park as the 13th president, following the retirement of current president Lee Bon-su. It applauded Park’s achievement and leadership as the president of ITC since 2007, an affiliate of Inha University. Park was an aerospace engineering professor at Inha University for 28 years from 1980 to 2007.

Park is well-known for his innovative leadership during his term as ITC president. He spearheaded adopting an evaluation system for professors’ achievements as well as creating digitalized education materials and attracting foreign students.

During his four-year term ending in 2016, Park aims to raise the school’s ranking to seventh in the country and 200th globally. He is expected to push extensive initiatives for school development, including faculty competitiveness and global leadership education.
