Danish design in focus at Yeosu EXPO

From now until June, preparations for the Danish Pavilion at EXPO 2012 in Yeosu will focus on pavilion design, content and business partnerships.

Danish EXPO Commissioner Steen Christensen visited Korea on Feb. 17-18 to hold consultations with the Korean EXPO Commissioner and organizing committee as well visit the Yeosu site.

During his visit, the Danish commissioner also briefed members of the Korean Danish Business Network on preparations of the Danish Pavilion and the opportunities it provides for the Danish business community in Korea.

The coastal city of Yeosu, South Jeolla Province, is hosting the next international exhibition ― known as EXPO ― in 2012 with the overall theme of “The Living Ocean and Coast” and sub-themes focusing on Coastal Development and Preservation, New Resources Technology and Creative Maritime Activities.

So far, a total of 84 countries have confirmed their participation with more expected to follow.

EXPO 2012 will cover 25 hectares and is expected to receive in excess of 8 million visitors during the three months it lasts, from May 12-Aug. 12.
