It's been a bumpy ride for BBGirls in the already testing K-pop industry. Though numerous member changes and a long period of obscurity preceded the trio's miraculous rise to fame, they now have their sights set on an even brighter future.

The group’s new single “LOVE 2” marks both their first release in over a year and -- more importantly -- their "re-debut" under GLG Entertainment. Known for their vibrant, summery aesthetic, BBGirls return this time with a cosy, winter-themed track.

“It’s a January comeback in the middle of winter, so we wanted to choose a song that could bring warmth and comfort. We hope this song gives you solace and hope, and that people will think, ‘BBGirls fit the winter vibe, too,’” Eunji shared.

She added that the music video for the new track, filmed last November during the season’s first snow, reflects their hopes for a fresh start as a team.

Minyoung, Eunji and Yuna were initially members of Brave Girls, a girl group that debuted in 2011. They joined Brave Girls in 2016, after three of the original members left, alongside Yujeong and Hayun to become a seven member group. Their big break came unexpectedly in 2021 when the 2017 single “Rollin’” was rediscovered, catapulting them into the spotlight. In February 2023, the remaining four members ended their contract with Brave Entertainment, moved to a new agency and rebranded themselves as BBGirls, but Youjung left the group in April that same year.

Starting anew as a three-member group was definitely a challenge, the members admitted candidly.

“In a small group, even one member’s absence can feel significant, and we went from four to three. So while preparing for this album, we worked hard with our dancers to ensure the performances didn’t feel like they were lacking, and each of us made extra efforts to solidify our roles,” said leader Minyoung.

“Our previous songs had a lively, higher vocal range. This time, we’re bringing you something more soothing and comfortable to listen to,” Minyoung explained.

The three members will be celebrating their 10th debut anniversary in 2026, and expressed excitement about their future.

“While we’re approaching our 10th anniversary, it doesn’t feel real because we had such a long hiatus. I’m actually more excited about what’s ahead. The more time we spend together, the more I feel like this team is about growing older together and sharing life as one,” said Yuna, the youngest member.

“Being in a girl group is ultimately a business relationship, so it’s not surprising to think that parting ways is inevitable. But at some point, I became certain that the three of us will never separate,” said Minyoung. She added that even when they get married or have children, they will strive to keep the team intact.

Minyoung emphasized that BBGirls still has much more to show: “We haven’t disbanded. We’re still here, working hard and moving forward. That’s the biggest message of this album. There’s so much we haven’t done yet, and so much we want to do.”
