CPhI Korea held its fifth annual event in August at the Coex exhibition hall in Seoul.

The main event in Europe attracts the most number of participants. CPhI Worldwide 2018, which took place in Madrid, Spain, was attended by some 44,500 people, including 39,000 international attendees.

At this year’s event in Frankfurt, Germany, there will be some 45,000 professionals and 2,500 pharma companies from 165 countries, exhibiting their roles in every stage of the pharmaceutical supply chain.

Korea will put forth some 70 pharmaceutical companies, which will introduce their latest achievements and technologies through the country’s pavilion and their respective company booths.

The Korea Pharmaceutical Traders Association and Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency will jointly prepare a country booth for some 35 Korean pharma firms, including Yuhan Corp., Boryung Pharmaceutical, CJ Healthcare, Chong Kun Dang, Ildong Pharmaceutical and Huons Global.

The contract development and manufacturing organization Samsung BioLogics as well as Dong-A ST, Daewoong Pharmaceutical and some 30 other firms, will operate their own booths.

CPhI Worldwide 2019 will discuss the future of medicine, the therapies of tomorrow, natural extracts, active pharmaceutical ingredients, the various formulations of medicine from powder and pills to capsules and creams, and medical devices that enable the creation of a pharmaceutical product.

On the day the event starts, the 16th CPhI Pharma Award will honor notable players that have shown excellence in 12 pharma categories, including API development, manufacturing technology and equipment. It will also recognize the best CEO of the year and best pharma company of the year.
