Cho Hyun-min, the youngest daughter of Hanjin Group chairman Cho Yang-ho, has been promoted to vice president of Jin Air, the group’s low-cost carrier, the company said Friday.

The 33-year-old Cho, who was the marketing director, will continue to oversee the company’s marketing operations as vice president.

Cho is the younger sister of Cho Hyun-ah, 42, the former executive vice president of Korean Air who made international headlines for the “nut rage” incident. Her older brother Cho Won-tae, 41, is currently the CEO of Jin Air and the vice chairman of Korean Air.

Cho Won-tae, who is the middle child, is considered to be the de facto heir of Hanjin Group, following the incident involving her older sister.

Jin Air also created a separate department for its maintenance team, expanding the organization from five to six departments.

Jin Air said through a statement that the changes were aimed at “strengthening global competitiveness in an intensifying LCC market, and creating a more specialized system for operations related to airline safety.”
