Organica Day, the juice-making arm of Herald Corp. said Tuesday that it has begun operating its new juice production plant equipped with high pressure processing technologies, in Anseong, Gyeonggi Province.

The new plant, acquired by Organica Day from CJ CheilJedang in December last year, has been remodeled and optimized to manufacture the juice brand’s all-natural, cold-pressed cleanse juices currently sold at Starbucks, The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf, Artisee and E-mart Traders.

The Anseong Just Juice Production Center, comprises of two buildings on a 15,983-square-meter site. It can produce up to 40 billion won ($34 million) worth of HPP juice every year. It boasts a production capacity that is around six times larger than that of Organica’s first plant in Paju.

Organica Day’s new center is also HACCP-accredited and certified under the Global Food Safety Initiative to guarantee both hygiene and quality in its manufacturing practices.

Together, the brand’s two plants in Gyeonggi Province make up Asia’s first-ever beverage making facilities that solely produce HPP-based detox juices.

“The Anseong center has allowed us to differentiate ourselves in all aspects, from product development to hygiene,” said Organica Day CEO Lee Young-jin in a statement.

“We will continue to invest aggressively in order to cement Just Juice’s leadership in the cleanse juice market and lead the development of a healthier eating culture.”

Organica Day was established in 2013, as a premium natural foods company with a specialty in making a variety of detox products including cold-pressed juices and carefully crafted soups.

Detox diets aim to improve health by flushing out unwanted toxins from the body and pumping in healthy nutrients from fresh vegetables and fruits.

Unlike conventional juices, Organica Day’s Just Juice Cleanse juices are cold-pressed using the HPP method, which helps protect the freshness, flavor and nutrients of raw fruits and vegetables.
