[브라질 네덜란드] ‘충격과 공포’ 브라질 선수들 “3위라도 하고 싶었는데…”

네덜란드와의 2014 브라질 월드컵 3-4위전에서 완패한 브라질 선수들은 “할 말이 없고 팬들에게 미안하다”며 고개를 들지 못했다.

브라질은 13일 오전 (한국시간) 브라질 브라질리아의 마네 가힌샤 경기장에서 열린 대회 3-4위전에서 0-3으로 완패했다.

독일과의 4강전에서 1-7이라는 기록적인 스코어로 참패한 브라질은 네덜란드를 상대로도 명예 회복에 실패했다.

공격수 오스카(첼시)는 경기 직후 TV 인터뷰에서 “무슨 할 말이 있겠느냐”면서 “3위라도 차지하길 바랐는데 그러지 못했다. 우리가 졌다. 할 말이 없다”고 말했다.

이어 “우리 선수들과 국민들 모두 슬프다”면서 “그러나 우리는 끝까지 도전했다”고 덧붙였다.

경고누적으로 4강전에 결장해 팀 패배의 빌미가 된 수비수 팅고 실바(파리생제르맹)는 “이것보다는 더 좋게 대회를 마칠 수 있었다”면서 크게 아쉬워했다.

이어 “팬들에게 사과한다. 마지막에 우리를 향해 야유를 퍼부었으나 그게 정상이다. 그들도 감정이 있다”면서 “지금 정신적으로 너무 힘들다”며 고개를 떨궜다.

More misery for Brazil as Dutch take third place

Brazil's traumatic World Cup ended with more pain on Saturday as they lost 3-0 to a superior Netherlands side in the third-place play-off at the Mane Garrincha National Stadium in Brasilia, according to AFP.

Bazil have now lost back-to-back home games for the first time since 1940, and they end the tournament having conceded 14 goals altogether, the most of any side at a World Cup since 1986 and the most ever for a host team.
