JYP Entertainment, the agency representing the Wonder Girls, dismissed rumors Thursday that the girl group was poised to disband, saying that “nothing has been discussed on the matter.”

An official from JYP Entertainment denied media reports that said the breakup of Wonder Girls was imminent.

“Both the agency and Wonder Girls members have never discussed the group’s disbandment. The decision will be made by the members, not by the company,” the official said.

Ever since the group’s leader Sun-ye married a Korean-Canadian missionary and moved to Canada in late January, rumors about the group’s future have been circulating.

The report in question suggested the 25-year-old leader, now pregnant, would not return to the stage as she plans engage in missionary work in Haiti with her husband after the birth of their baby.

The report also said that while other members have been working on individual projects without Sun-ye, some members’ contracts with the agency are to expire soon. Except for Hye-rim, the last to join the group, the exclusive contracts with three members -- Ye-eun, Yu-bin, So-hee -- are due to run out late this year or early next year.

Sources familiar with the matter said that some members are mulling whether they should stay at JYP or sign with a new agency.

The group, which made a successful debut in 2007 with hit songs “Tell Me” and “So Hot,” entered the U.S. music market in 2009 with the English version of its hit single “Nobody.”
