The report dubbed Baek Ji-young “Korea’s Queen of Ballads,” explaining how she had been in the K-pop scene for 14 years.

The news report also mentioned Baek’s latest track, “Hate,” released on Jan. 3. The ballad about heartbreak was a huge success, winning her the top spot on several music charts including Naver Music, Sori Bada and Mnet.

Baek announced that she was flattered to be given the opportunity to meet her fans in Japan. She also asked Japanese fans to look out for her.

Her new album will also include her major hits including “Don’t Forget,” from the soundtrack of hit television drama series “Iris,” also in Japanese.

With her official debut, the singer will hold a premium live concert at Tokyo Akasaka Blitz.
