LONDON (AP) _ The English Football Association has fined Manchester United manager Alex Ferguson 12,000 pounds ($18,900) for implying a referee's assistant was motivated by bias.

After a 1-1 draw at Tottenham last month, Ferguson was angry that linesman Simon Beck didn't award a penalty when United was leading 1-0.

Ferguson claimed in a television interview that ``there was no way we were going to get a decision from'' Beck, citing Beck's 2010 decision to allow a goal by Chelsea striker Didier Drogba, whom the manager claimed was offside.

An FA independent regulatory commission ruled on Friday that Ferguson was guilty of misconduct because he ``implied that the match official was motivated by bias.''

영국축구협회는  2월 8일 축구경기 부심에게 독설을 퍼부은 맨체스터 유나이티드의 알렉스 퍼거슨 감독에세 12000 파운드 (약 2천만원) 을 부과했다고 밝혔다.

퍼거슨은 1월 21일에 일어났던 토튼햄과의 원정경기에서 1-1로 비기는 상황이 벌어지자 맨유가 1-0으로 이기고 있는 시점에서 사이몬 벡 부심이 제대로 된 판정을 내리지 못했다고 말했다.

그는 "벡 부심이 2010년 첼시와 경기서 디디에 드록바가 3야드(약 2.7m)나 앞섰음에도 오프사이드를 선언하지 않았던 것"을 언급하며 "벡이 제대로 된 경정을 내리지 못할 것"이라고 TV 인터뷰에 말한 것이다.

협회는 그와 같은 발언이 "편협한 사고에 근거한 발언"이라며 징계를 결정했다고 사이트에 공지했다.
