Comedian Kang Ho-dong is returning to the entertainment business after a one-year hiatus, having signed a new contract with S.M. C&C, an S.M. Entertainment affiliate.
“The company has signed an exclusive contract with Kang Ho-dong, and he will return to the screen this year,” announced S.M. C&C.
“I have spent a lot of time thinking, and I have decided to return to the industry as the only right thing for me to do would be to bring more joy to the audience as an MC,” said Kang through S.M. C&C. “I will focus on my duty as an MC and will try my best to bring more fun,” added Kang.
In September 2011, Kang announced temporary retirement following his tax evasion scandal.
