Most women leave cooking to their partner

Most U.S. women say the reason they don't cook frequently was having a partner who does most of the cooking, a survey indicated.

The survey of 2,806 U.S. women, commissioned by Asia Food Recipe, indicated 58 percent of the respondents said their husbands are better cooks, but 36 percent said they didn't have sufficient time to cook and 12 percent said they didn't want to clean up afterwards.

Almost 60 percent of the women said they struggle with making simple curry, 42 percent said they cannot make spaghetti, 11 percent said they never prepared a roast of meat and one-in-20 said they can't make an omelet or boil an egg.

Although 78 percent said they enjoyed cooking, most were only able to cook six dishes from memory without having to refer to a recipe.

Seventy-eight percent said their mothers could easily fix any of the dishes mentioned, while 11 percent said they couldn't cook more than three meals without turning to a cooking recipe book or seeking assistance.

거의 60%에 달하는 여성들이 간단한 카레요리를 만드는 것도 어렵다고 답했고, 42%는 스파게티조차 만들 수 없다고 하였다. 11%는 고기구이를 만들어본 적도 없다고 했고 20명 중 한명은 기본적인 오믈렛이나 삶은 달갈조차 만들수 없다고 대답했다.

여성들 중 78%가 요리를 즐긴다고 했지만, 이들 대부분은 조리법을 참고하지 않고서는 요리를 여섯 종류밖에 만들 수 없었다.

응답자의 68%는 그들의 어머니는 어떤 요리라도 쉽게 만들 수 있다고 했고, 11%는 조리법을 보거나 도움을 받지 않고서는 세 끼 이상 만들 수 없다고 답했다.
