Apart from the cooperation pertaining to the world athletics championships, Gyeonggi Province and Daegu will join hands to enhance the competitiveness of the two regions by cooperating in the administrative, economic and industrial sectors, including the development of the textile industry, and other major issues, such as the promotion of youth exchange programs.

Those attending the signing ceremony were Daegu Mayor Kim Beom-il; Vice Chairman of the Organizing Committee for the IAAF World Championships Daegu 2011 Moon Dong-hu; Park Sang-tae, Chairman of Daegu City council’s special committee to support the world championships; Gyeonggi Province Gov. Kim Moon-soo; Hong Seung-pyo, Director of the Self-Governing Bureau of the Gyeonggi Provincial Government; and other related officials.
