HD Hyundai Robotics has cut the time needed to resolve robot-related problems by 63 percent using AI agents developed in partnership with US software company Palantir Technologies, the South Korean firm said Sunday.

Since deploying the AI agents in August, the company has reduced its average problem-solving time from 21.5 days to 7.9 days. It also expects the technology to slash robot programming costs by more than 50 percent.

The results were unveiled at Palantir's Sovereignty Bootcamp in New York, where HD Hyundai Robotics Chief Technology Officer Ahn Seong-hwan outlined the company's physical AI strategy and progress in its collaboration with Palantir.

The event, launched in July, focuses on AI adoption while safeguarding sensitive corporate data. Its three sessions have attracted about 450 executives from 250 organizations worldwide.

The partnership combines AI, simulation and engineering expertise to automate and optimize robot programming. Previously, engineers had to manually inspect robot movements and repeatedly adjust operating sequences, routes and speeds — a time-consuming process that was difficult to standardize.

Now, AI agents analyze existing programs and suggest improvements, which engineers review and refine using their field expertise.

HD Hyundai Robotics also plans to expand engineers' roles beyond programming and installation, training them to identify operational challenges and develop AI-powered solutions.

Senior executives from both companies will hold regular steering committee meetings to set priorities and explore further applications.

Palantir Chief Revenue Officer Ryan Taylor pledged support for HD Hyundai Robotics' expansion into new business opportunities using its AI platform.

"We plan to identify ways to address challenges on the ground more quickly and effectively while expanding the scope of our physical AI solutions business," Ahn said.
