Samsung Electronics on Thursday confirmed a record 107.44 trillion won ($80.5 billion) in third-quarter operating profit and approved a 30 trillion won cash dividend, as surging demand for AI-related memory chips continued to fuel the company's earnings.
The Korean tech giant posted revenue of 195.25 trillion won for the July-September period, up 126.9 percent from a year earlier, according to a regulatory filing.
Operating profit surged 783.1 percent on-year, while net profit jumped 514.6 percent to 75.14 trillion won.
Compared with the previous quarter, revenue increased 13.9 percent and operating profit rose 20.1 percent.
The results confirmed the record earnings Samsung had projected in its preliminary guidance on Oct. 8, when it became the first Korean company to cross the 100 trillion won mark in quarterly operating profit.
The milestone comes amid a prolonged boom in memory chips, fueled by heavy investment in AI infrastructure that has driven up chip demand and prices.
In a separate filing Thursday, Samsung said its board approved a 30 trillion won cash dividend, payable Nov. 27.
The dividend is part of the company's 90 trillion won to 110 trillion won shareholder return plan announced in August.
