South Korean actor Lee Kwang-soo is drawing attention for his unusually frequent and playful interactions with fans on Dear U Bubble, where he has earned a reputation for being highly responsive and approachable.
Known as the “Prince of Asia” for his popularity across Southeast Asia, Lee brings the offbeat humor that made him a fan favorite on "Running Man" to the platform. He sends dozens of messages a day, runs polls and asks fans for advice on everyday choices, according to reports.
He also responds to a wide range of fan concerns, from what to eat for lunch to college applications and job interviews. Some subscribers have shared screenshots of receiving more than 40 messages in a single day, contrasting Lee’s activity with other celebrities who may send only one or two messages a month.
In a message posted on Oct. 7, Lee expressed gratitude after fans reacted to a photo he had shared of himself receiving an intravenous drip.
“I simply shared a photo of me on IV, and most of the messages I get every second are telling me to stop messaging and go to bed,” Lee wrote. “I am very thankful, and at a loss for words. I will live with the gratitude on my heart.”
When one subscriber revealed they had lost 25 kilograms, Lee replied: “Wow, that is so cool, not because you lost weight but because you seem like someone who could achieve anything. That is so cool.”
After joining the platform on Oct. 1, Lee reportedly attracted more than 20,000 subscribers in just 10 days, according to local news outlet Ohmynews.
Originally popularized by K-pop artists, Dear U Bubble allows celebrities to communicate with subscribers through a paid messaging service. The platform has since expanded to include actors and sports figures.
As of Sept. 30, 2025, more than 254 teams and 570 celebrities were using the service, according to the company. Participating artists include NCT, Blackpink and Eden, as well as actors Lee Sun-bin, Kim Min-kyu and Choi Byung-chan.
Messages appear as one-on-one conversations, although celebrities can share selected messages from fans with the wider subscriber community. The service costs 5,000 won ($3.80) a month.
