Singer to release first solo music in over a year, hold fan concerts in four Chinese cities
Yuqi of I-dle will return as a solo artist next month with her second EP, "27."
The six-track EP is due out Oct. 8, and will be her first solo release since the single "Motivation" in September last year, her agency Cube Entertainment said Wednesday.
A teaser uploaded Wednesday features the number 27, Yuqi's age, on a set of nail tips. According to Cube, the album centers on the contrasting emotions and concerns that can accompany being 27.
The upcoming release follows Yuqi's first EP, "Yuq1," which sold more than 550,000 copies in its first week. Its lead track, "Freak," charted on Tencent Music's Korean music chart in China.
Yuqi wrote all of the tracks on her previous single, "Motivation." Her digital single "Radio (Dum-Dum)" remained in the top 10 on Tencent Music for 79 consecutive weeks.
She is also a full member of the Korea Music Copyright Association, becoming the first foreign female K-pop idol to attain that membership status. Yuqi recently featured on Nowz's "Fly Freely," which reached No. 1 on QQ Music's new song chart in China.
Yuqi will hold her "2026 Yuqi Fan-Con '27'" in Guangzhou, Chengdu, Beijing and Shanghai. Additional promotional activities for the EP have yet to be announced.
