Immersive artifact exhibition

An immersive exhibition of Korean cultural objects is open at Arte Museum in Gangneung, Gangwon Province.

The show “Heritage Garden: Threads of Connection” showcases 146 items, from celadons to moon jars and more.

Everland fireworks

At Everland, South Korea’s largest theme park in Yongin, Gyeonggi Province, fireworks will fill the sky through March 3.

The signature Four Seasons Garden, a Nordic landscape covered in snow, will light up on Fridays and Saturdays.

Cheongdo Light Festival

A train trip to Cheongdo County in North Gyeongsang Province is worth the two-hour ride from the capital -- if that’s where you are -- for photos and more.

Cheongdo Provence Park, dotted with installations and attractions, has been running a light festival since 2012.

Open through Feb. 10, the park lights up from 5 p.m. and sprays artificial snow from 6:30 p.m. on weekdays and 6:00 p.m. on weekends. For more information, visit cheongdo-provence.co.kr.

Bricktopia at Legoland

Sancheoneo Ice Festival

The annual ice fishing festival is back at Hwacheoncheon, a stream in Hwacheon, Gangwon Province.

Try tent fishing, lure fishing or fishing with your bare hands in addition to classic winter thrills like sledding through Feb. 2.
