Seolhyun and Jimin of girl group AOA have apologized to the public for the recent controversy regarding their attitude on Onstyle’s reality show “Channel AOA.”

On the episode aired last Tuesday, the two AOA members were asked questions about historical figures in Korea. Controversy arose as they were both unable to identify An Jung-geun, a famous Korean independence activist.

However, the public was not enraged simply by the fact that the two failed to recognize the independence fighter. The reason for the criticism was that the two had laughed and joked around about the activist, with Jimin saying, “(Is he) Kim Du-han?”

Kim was the son of independence fighter Kim Chwa-chin and a lawmaker.

With the public demanding for a response from the girl group, Jimin and Seolhyun had uploaded an apology letter onto their official Instagram accounts on Thursday. The two apologized for their behavior and promised not to repeat the mistake.

AOA is currently preparing for its comeback with its new album “Good Luck,” which is scheduled to be released on Monday.
