South Korea's top automaker Hyundai Motor Co. plans to run a separate booth for its new luxury lineup of Genesis cars at the upcoming international motor show in Detroit, where the new vehicle model will also make its international debut, company officials said Sunday.

It will mark the first time the carmaker will run a booth wholly designated to just one lineup of cars at an international auto show, they noted.

The company earlier said the new G90 model, locally named the EQ900, will make its international debut at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit that is set to run from Jan. 11-24.

The Genesis is a recently launched independent lineup of luxury vehicles bearing the same name from Hyundai.

The company officials said the new G90 will be presented by Chung Eui-sun, vice chairman of Hyundai Motor Group that also has South Korea's second-largest automaker Kia Motors Corp. under its wing.

The company is set to begin North American sales of the G90 in the second half of the year.

In addition to the G90, Hyundai Motor Co. will showcase 12 other cars at the upcoming motor fair, while Kia Motors will present 23 vehicles, including the new KDC-12 concept car, they said. (Yonhap)
