Shinhan Financial Group, the nation’s No. 1 banking group by assets and profits, has announced a comprehensive financial tech start-up support program aimed at nurturing potential fintech champions into global players.

Under the collaboration of its key affiliates, such as Shinhan Bank, Shinhan Card and Shinhan Investment, the banking group launched Shinhan Future’s Lab this week.

Participant companies to the program will receive Shinhan’s support with its infrastructure and financial system, especially in getting loans or investment based on technology assessment.

“Shinhan Future’s Lab is an extended version of the individual fintech support programs led by each Shinhan affiliate for the past year,” said a spokesperson for the group.

“Any company that possesses distinguished technology in financial operations and service can join the program.”

Interested fintech companies are invited to participate in the presentation meeting to be held on June 9 at Shinhan Art Hall in Gangnam. The application deadline is June 21.

For the past three months, the banking group has been working with management consulting firm Accenture, which operates fintech innovation labs in four countries around the world.

The company that wins in the final competition after a 12-week project period will be given the right to participate in Accenture’s fintech demo day and to advance into the global market, officials explained.
