The nine megastars of K-pop girl group Girls’ Generation will hold the group’s first-ever solo concert at the iconic Tokyo Dome on Dec. 9, according to an announcement by SM Entertainment officials on Monday.

The upcoming show “Girls’ Generation ‘The Best Live’ at Tokyo Dome” is intended to celebrate both SNSD’s fourth anniversary since its official Japanese debut in 2010 and the group’s recent J-pop album “The Best.”

The album was released on July 23 and spent two consecutive weeks reigning at the top of the Oricon Weekly Album Chart.

The ladies’ 2011 Japan arena tour attracted more than 550,000 fans, the most by any female K-pop group.

In celebration of the group’s upcoming solo performance, SNSD will upload a special YouTube video of the girls’ debut 2010 showcase in Japan as well as various interview clips with the K-pop starlets.
