U.N. Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon will deliver a speech about women’s role in world development in Seoul next week at a meeting for young women leaders, officials said.

Ban along with many high profile officials are participating in the inaugural World Congress of Global Partnership for Young Women, which is being held at Duksung Women’s University from Aug. 10-13.

Under the title “Sharing Together,” the four-day meeting will also bring together more than 1,000 university students from 33 countries, according to the organizers.

The U.N. chief is scheduled to deliver a keynote speech on the final day on Monday.

The conference is co-organized by the United Nations Entity for Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women, also known as U.N. Women, and Duksung Women’s University.

The two organizations agreed in 2011 to jointly develop a program to educate and train young women through a global partnership.

The partnership aims to nurture young women, who will lead the future society and play key roles in solving issues such as gender equality and the empowerment of women, said Chi Eun-hee, president of Duksung Women’s University.

“The participants of the congress for young women will be able to enhance their academic and cultural knowledge through seminars and case studies,” Chi added.
