Egyptian Tourist Authority said the Egyptian city of Aswan will host the official 2011 World Tourism Day celebrations on Sept. 27. UNWTO Secretary-General Taleb Rifai said Egypt, a leading tourism country holding world-famous cultural heritage, is the most ideal country to host the international event. The theme of the event will be “Tourism ― Linking Cultures.” Prior to the event, UNWTO will hold photography and Twitter contests at www.UNWTO.org until Aug. 31.
