The cat in charge of catching mice at the British prime minister’s office finally caught its first prey, according to British reports.
When Larry took office as chief mouser two months ago, he consistently failed to catch any mice, preferring spending time hanging around corridors.
Staff finally trained Larry with imitations of mice, which eventually helped him catch his first prey today.
Problems involving rodents first surfaced in a media broadcast, which prompted the office to hire professionals to solve the issue. According to a spokesman, Larry was “highly recommended” and had a “very strong predatory drive and high chase-drive and hunting instinct.”
The first cat hired by British government was inaugurated during the reign of Henry VIII from 1509 to 1547, according to reports.
