A Western Sydney council has voted to ban a book on same-sex parenting from its libraries. The Cumberland city councillor behind the move Steve Christou admits he hasn’t read the book. But he claims it sexualises children, an accusation the local major rejects. The state government says the ban could break anti-discrimination laws and is threatening to pull funding for the council’s libraries.
