E-Mart opened its seventh store in Mongolia on Thursday at UG Arena in Ulaanbaatar. It plans to open an eighth store at Ulaanbaatar Department Store in November and expand its No Brand specialty store network to seven locations by year-end, further growing its presence in the Mongolian retail market.

The 3,272-square-meter store is E-Mart's third mid-sized outlet in Mongolia since its market entry in 2016. Located on the first floor of UG Arena, it targets nearby residents and office workers as well as visitors to the venue.

UG Arena is a sports and cultural complex, hosting sports events, concerts, performances and exhibitions. E-Mart designed the store to serve customers looking to shop, dine and relax in one place.

Its product range includes groceries, Korean food, No Brand products, meal kits, beer, wine, cut fruit, freshly pressed juices, sportswear and sporting goods. Other tenants include food and beverage brands, fashion and cosmetics stores, healthcare providers and lifestyle services. A rest area is located in the center of the store.

E-Mart operates large and smaller stores in Mongolia, adapting its formats to local market conditions and customer needs.

About 1.7 million of Mongolia's 3.5 million people live in Ulaanbaatar. E-Mart is operating its store formats to serve local customers, combining large stores with smaller outlets and specialty stores.

No Brand opened its first Mongolian store in July and its second in early October. E-Mart plans to expand the chain to seven locations by the end of the year.

“We have expanded our business in Mongolia from large and mid-sized stores to No Brand specialty outlets, drawing on 10 years of local experience,” said Kang Young-seok, head of E-Mart’s Global Business Division. “We will continue to tailor stores to local customers’ lifestyles and market conditions.”
