The second edition of Seoul Petlympic -- a two-day sports festival for dogs and their owners -- will open on Oct. 24 at Peace Plaza in Mapo-gu, according to the Seoul Metropolitan Government on Friday.
Four events will be open to dogs with basic training: staying in place, running to their owners when called, weaving through cones and completing a 15-meter sprint alongside their owners.
The competitions will be divided into two weight classes, with up to 100 participants accepted for each event on a first-come, first-served basis. Each event carries an entry fee of 40,000 won ($29).

The newly introduced dog-friendly buses will operate from Sept. 29 to Oct. 22, offering passengers a chance to take in the capital's autumn scenery with their pets, according to the city government.

The festival will also feature amateur and professional competitions in agility and Frisbee, as well as dog dancing and a flyball demonstration.
A separate "Dog Trail" program will allow 400 participants to walk a roughly 4-kilometer course through Peace Park with their dogs.
Registration opens Sept. 14 on the festival’s official website, with applications accepted on a first-come, first-served basis.
