LinearHub is a collaboration solution startup established last June. Three months after its incorporation, the company was selected as a startup eligible for incubation support from the Gyeonggi Center for Creative Economy & Innovation, leading it to move its base of operations to the Center.

The collaboration solution product of LinearHub aims to provide video conferencing services for enterprises through web-based and mobile channels. Besides audio visual communications, it enables users to engage in text chatting and share files. Without the need for expensive video conferencing hardware, anyone can conduct or join real-time video conference calls via smartphone from anywhere in the world, be it a conference room at a head office, an overseas office, or a hotel during an overseas business trip. Also, it is compatible with both the Android and iOS operating systems.

Microsoft’s Skype and Google’s Hangout have already developed this functionality, but their services often experience severe lag and interruptions when three or more parties are on the conference call at once. The collaboration solution of LinearHub allows any number of parties to join the video conference call by mixing and separating pieces of dialogue information for transmission within the Cloud server. Also, conference calls are recorded and archived at each workstation, allowing them to be retrieved at any time.

A representative of LinearHub said, “Through rooting, which is the authority of the website administrator, outside access is prevented, and in the event a user loses their smartphone, the administrator can deactivate the device upon the report of loss, effectively removing any security risk. Also, users can check who searched for specific video conference records and when the searches were conducted, further facilitating communication. In December, LinearHub will conduct an open beta test in preparation for launch in the first half of next year.”

Kim Sung-hyuk, CEO of LinearHub, said, “Thanks to provision of office space and legal and marketing support provided by the Gyeonggi Center for Creative Economy & Innovation, we have been able to generate tangible results in a relatively short period of time. Large local businesses and Chinese telecommunication companies have already expressed interest in our product.”
