Hawaii’s biggest event of the year, “Aloha Festivals,” is taking place for three weeks starting from Sept. 12 in Oahu. Each year more than 1 million visitors flock to the island to participate in the event, which has been held a total of 67 times. This year’s festivities will include special programs commemorating the 40th year of the Polynesian Voyaging Society. Visitors will be able to experience Hawaii’s rich 2,000-year history through traditional Hawaiian songs and dances. A special event this year will give visitors who buy an aloha festival ribbon a chance to win two round-trip tickets from Honolulu to Las Vegas or two round-trip tickets around the Hawaiian islands with $250 worth of coupons and other prizes.
