Former CN Blue member Lee Jong-hyun wrote in a social media post that he would quit social media, just a day after returning to it for the first time in about eight years.
As part of a lengthy message he posted Tuesday, Lee said he would "no longer engage in any SNS activity or further communication."
"I will return completely to the life of a person outside the entertainment industry, reflect on my past and live an upright life that I will not be ashamed of in society," he added.
On Monday, Lee disclosed details about his personal life during his eight-year hiatus, saying he had "started a family" but was "in the process of sorting things out so we can each go our own way," supposedly referring to a marriage and separation.
Lee also shared photos of himself working on a laptop at an office and looking at cosmetics, saying he had worked in beauty marketing for the past eight years.
Those remarks and photos were later removed, with the revised post saying only that his personal life had undergone "several hardships."
"From now on, I want to communicate with more people as Lee Jong-hyun rather than as a celebrity," he said.
The post prompted speculation that his SNS return was intended to promote beauty products or signal an entertainment comeback, but Lee denied both claims Tuesday.
Lee left CN Blue and halted entertainment activities in 2019 after his agency FNC Entertainment acknowledged that he had viewed illegally filmed videos and taken part in misogynistic and sexually inappropriate conversations in KakaoTalk group chats linked to singer Jung Joon-young.
