The war in the Middle East has driven oil product prices up by more than 20 percent, with the impact spreading to service costs such as car repairs, laundry fees and airfares. According to the Ministry of Data and Statistics, the cost-of-living index rose 2.9 percent on-year in April, while personal service prices gained 3.2 percent.
중동 지역 전쟁으로 유가가 20% 넘게 상승하면서 그 영향력이 자동차 수리, 빨래 요금, 그리고 항공료 등으로 퍼져나가고 있다. 통계청에 따르면, 4월 생활물가지수는 작년 대비 2.9% 상승했으며, 개인 서비스 요금은 3.2% 올랐다.
The cost-of-living index, based on 144 commonly purchased items, had remained relatively stable until earlier this year, but has recently accelerated toward the 3 percent range. In April, laundry fees jumped 8.9 percent, car repair costs rose 4.8 percent and domestic package tour expenses climbed 5.6 percent.
흔히 소비되는 물품 144개에 대한 생활물가지수는 올해 초까지 비교적 안정적으로 유지되었으나 최근 3%대로 급격히 상승했다. 4월에 빨리 요금은 8.9% 상승했으며, 차 수리비는 4.8%, 그리고 국내 패키지 여행 지출은 5.6% 증가했다.
The food service sector has also come under pressure as takeout container costs nearly doubled from a year earlier. Experts warn the trend could eventually lead to broader restaurant price hikes, similar to 2022, when the Russia-Ukraine war pushed the annual cost-of-living index up 5.1 percent and inflation to 6.3 percent in July.
포장 용기 가격이 두배 가까이 상승하면서 요식업 분야에도 압력이 가해지고 있다. 전문가들은 이러한 추세가 식당 가격 상승으로 이어질 수 있다고 경고하며, 2022년 러시아-우크라이나 전쟁으로 인해 연간 생활물가지수가 5.1% 상승하며 7월 인플레이션이 6.3%를 기록한 것과 비슷할 수 있다고 말했다.
They also cautioned that monthly inflation could again approach the 3 percent level, viewed by policymakers as a psychological threshold.
또한 월간 인플레이션이 다시 3% 수준으로 가까워질 수 있으며, 이는 정책수립자들에게 심리적인 부담이 될 수 있다고 경고했다.
